It is only a five minute hike down the cliff to the famous black sand clothes-optional Kehena beach. Or take a five minute drive to Kalapana to the viewing area to see the lava flowing into the sea.
The Oliana Point seen in the spectacular coastal photo above is literally across the street. You can hear the ocean waves crash against the cliffs from the cottage.
The Cottage and Main House are smoke-free, fragrance-free and pet-free for the comfort of those with allergies.

Thank you so much for renting out your awesome vacation cottage!! We had an amazing week here in this tiny piece of heaven.... The sound of the ocean and frogs every night was peaceful, as well as the full moon and tradewinds.... The black beach across the road was our favorite place - end of the road, hiking on lava, Kona mudpie milkshakes, good Thai food in Pahoa, tide pools snorkeling, warm ponds, etc. We'll definitely be back.
